The M2 should look like this. Have an N/A straight 6 that revs to the moon. Hardly any sound deadening. Manual six speed transmission. No fake noise. Loud exhaust. Hydraulic power steering. A mechanical limited slip diff, wavetrac preferably. And be available in TechnoViolet.
Basically a new E36, so none of those items will make it into production. And I'll be forced to buy a Hummingbird Mustang.

Why not just buy an e36? They're so unappreciated it's silly.

You'll get 2 of those things. But that's it.
Just buy a classic(better) car.

I already drive one.

It will get the stick, diff, loudish exhaust, and maybe no fake noise.

It needs bigger side pipes, like this:

Unlike you, my next car will be the first time I will be able to buy a new car. And by new, I mean new. It'll be nice to not have to spend time chasing the CEL or random leaks and squeeks. Besides that, it'll free up time to work on my Pinto.
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:20 |

Well if you're gonna get a new car (and if you absolutely have to get a new car for some reason), then I don't think the M2 should be your first choice.
Why so brand loyal??
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:21 |

It'll probably get an electronic dif, and those make me sad.
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:23 |

Didn't catch the "mechanical" part.
Oh, well, it's still an LSD.

If you plan on buying a new BMW, you will still be chasing leaks and CEL's. Well, your service department will, and you'll be cruising around in loaner 320i's. My dad's M235i just went in for its third CEL with 5k on the clock, and my 335d spent two weeks in the shop after I bought it. They have roughly the same reliability of my E30, but less straight forward to fix.

I want something small, rwd with a stick, the Alfa Camaro won't be out until November of next year, the ATS-V will be too pricey, I'm stronly considering an S550 Mustang and the Hummingbird should be pretty fucking sweet, and the Hellcat is way to much money for me.
I don't really have any brand loyalty to speak of.

I've never said this to another man, but.. you have amazing flared fenders.

Why not CPO E92 M3?
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:28 |

I'll probably just get a Mustang
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:29 |

I'd rather have a faster Mustang or Camaro.

but WHY
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:30 |

I heard the M2 will be an I2 mated to a hybrid system. Everything is electronic and the stereo pumps in sounds of a 1993 Civic with a fart can. Also, an additional 500lbs of bullshit luxury equipment is added because drivers are now too lazy to look in their mirrors. Best of all, the new hybrid system is mated to a 12-speed slushbox so the engine never needs to rev past 3,500. Oh, and it's FWD.
- NOW, I want you to think about this and realize that this will probably be a car BMW produces in 10-15 years.

you're tugging at my E36 heart strings
![]() 10/14/2014 at 22:50 |

And they have Chinese transmissions. Which I really don't trust.

(Side note this movie is insane)
(In the weirdest way possible)
(Not a bad thing)

Agree on the NA I6 that revs to the moon. Then just add a couple turbos that don't run out of breath way up there and you're set. Think that's what they're doing anyway...
![]() 10/14/2014 at 23:12 |
|
Please leave off the turbos

kinda my wishlist for the new GT350 and so far it looks like it's heading in the right direction with the 8k rpm v8 being confirmed. Add to the list a rear transaxle.
![]() 10/14/2014 at 23:16 |

Transaxle isn't happening, that would require redesigning the floor and suspension.

When do you plan on buying the new car/what is your budget going to be?
![]() 10/14/2014 at 23:31 |

Either in late December or early next year.

Have you thought about the Chevy SS? Similar price as the other cars you've mentioned, manual, great interior, RWD, and a much more unique option than the others

Just a design opinion -
I'm a fan of being as subtle as possible, which is REALLY hard with racing livery - but the minimalist in me doesn't want anything in the center of the lower air dam, or on the roof or side-sills, but the wing is debatable. I'd probably like to see all three colors grace both perimeters of the upper wing in small pin-stripes rather than see it across the whole surface...
but all bitching aside - this is still very cool.

When it's time to sell my E90M I will be looking for a clean E92M to replace it. Can't get enough of the S65.
![]() 10/15/2014 at 04:03 |

Hate to break, but the M2 isn't going to be revealed until next year with release in the US market delayed to Mar 2016.

And leave off 100+ lbs-ft with them? And the extra 80+ hp and 100+ lbs-ft within easy tuning reach?

I completely agree with your every want.

Nice. I like the N/A part. Now NO iDrive, and no electronic babysitters.

It's called Only God Forgives, directed by Nicholas Refn, the same guy who directed Drive. It's a beautifully shot movie, and production is very interesting, but its not a movie for everyone. Personally, I loved it. But it's too weird for some. I would definitely recommend it if you want something with an artistic and macabre flair. It's a movie you'll be thinking about long after the credits finish rolling, and I'm pretty sure it's on Netflix.
![]() 10/15/2014 at 17:52 |

Well that's interesting.

To put it in context, my best friend and I have both seen it a number of times each. My girlfriend liked it, esp. the symbolism throughout and the overall style, but thought some parts were unnecessarily gruesome. His girlfriend just peaced out at some point when the four of us were watching the movie.

lol that makes me really interested.
